Cliente: Crescer na Umbanda, selo editorial.
Coescrevi, fiz todo conceito visual (design/editoração/pintura) para série de livros em parábolas, com meu sócio Tedy Chavouty, para o selo editorial Crescer na Umbanda.
Nós, com o objetivo de difundir religião de matriz africana iorubá Umbanda, criamos uma serie de livros ilustrados para todos Orixás (divindades) e guias espirituais.
Obaluaê é associado à terra e à cura de doenças. Considerado o Orixá da saúde, sendo invocado para tratar enfermidades e desequilíbrios físicos e espirituais. Tornou-se responsável por reduzir o corpo dos espíritos que reencarnam. Colocando-os no útero de suas mães, em formato de bebê, estabilizando e apoiando as mudanças que acontecem na barriga de suas genitoras.

||OBALUAÊ|| Illustrated Book of Parables
Client: Crescer na Umbanda, publishing label.
I co-wrote, created the entire visual concept (design/editing/painting) for a series of books in parables, with my partner Tedy Chavouty, for the publishing label Crescer na Umbanda.
We, with the aim of spreading the African Yoruba religion Umbanda, created a series of illustrated books for all Orishas (deities) and spiritual guides.
Obaluaê is associated with the earth and the cure of illnesses. Considered the Orisha of health, being invoked to treat illnesses and physical and spiritual imbalances. He became responsible for reducing the bodies of reincarnating spirits. Placing them in their mother's womb, in the shape of a baby, stabilizing and supporting the changes that occur in their mother's womb.

A capa e sobre capa do livro, montei e editei fotos de palhas de um modo que as simetrias façam uma unidade coesa como base para o nome dos autores, o título do livro e o nome de nosso selo editorial.
On the cover and on the cover of the book, I assembled and edited photos of straws in such a way that the symmetries form a cohesive unit as the basis for the authors' names, the title of the book and the name of our publishing label.
Para escolha da editoração, formato das páginas, fontes tipográficas e diagramação. Logo na capa e sumário, é transmitida a originalidade da obra, para escolha da fonte título a esquerda subindo a página, levando o olhar do leitor a início do prefácio com as caixas de texto em uma tipografia mais branda, justificada a direita com as letras da ultima linha sobreposta nas letras de cima formando uma unidade com o número da página correspondente.
To choose the publishing, page format, typographic fonts and layout. Right on the cover and summary, the originality of the work is transmitted, for the choice of the title font on the left going up the page, taking the reader's eye to the beginning of the preface with the text boxes in a softer typography, justified on the right with the letters of the last line superimposed on the upper letters forming a unit with the corresponding page number.
Apliquei a Sequência Fibonacci ao grid de todas páginas. Partindo da caixa de texto, o olhar é conduzido aos elementos da ilustração, seguindo em espiral ao longo de toda a arte que complementa o texto, para o leitor abstrair totalmente o conceito da obra de modo subliminar e conciso. A ilustração dialoga com formato quadrado de cada lauda, quando aberta, o layout fica widescreen (familiar a monitores/tablets/televisores).
As pérolas e mão direita da arte, conduz ao objetivo proposto.
I applied the Fibonacci Sequence to the grid of all pages. Starting from the text box, the eye is led to the elements of the illustration, following in a spiral throughout the art that complements the text, for the reader to fully abstract the concept of the work in a subliminal and concise way. The illustration dialogues with the square format of each page, when opened, the layout is widescreen (familiar to monitors/tablets/televisions).
The pearls and right hand of art lead to the proposed objective.
Além de Fibonacci, utilizei a Psicologia das Cores nas artes. Transmitindo a vibração e sentimento que a cena transmitirá, nesse e caso: serenidade (verdes), concentração (azuis) e equilíbrio (marrons). Para a sabedoria aflorar.
Em outras cenas, as cores foram usadas para fazer a crescente de tensão e suspense aumentar gradualmente ao longo da história.
In addition to Fibonacci, I used Color Psychology in the arts. Transmitting the vibration and feeling that the scene will transmit, in this case: serenity (greens), concentration (blues) and balance (browns). For wisdom to emerge.
In other scenes, colors were used to make the build-up of tension and suspense gradually increase throughout the story.
As diferentes texturas de pinceis, usadas na aplicação das cores dos elementos que compõe as ilustrações, tem dois objetivos. O primeiro, é mostrar as diferentes texturas táteis dos elementos em cena, como as texturas fibrosa das palhas de Obaluaê e a textura etérea das esferas espirituais. O segundo, é transmitir o proposito onírico dessa cena, o fundo em tons de branco com ranhuras parecer se movimentar e Opacizar. As pernas e ventre da mãe grávida dissolvendo de forma magística.
The different brush textures, used to apply the colors of the elements that make up the illustrations, have two objectives. The first is to show the different tactile textures of the elements in the scene, such as the fibrous textures of Obaluaê straws and the ethereal texture of the spiritual spheres. The second is to convey the dreamlike purpose of this scene, the background in shades of white with grooves appears to move and Opacify. The legs and belly of the pregnant mother magically dissolving.
