THERME SENJAK
This project originated as a design of a public bathhouse, or thermae, situated in the area of Senjak, and it was conceived as a hermetic structure with a roof covered with a field of wheat, serving as an ambient addition and homage to the history of Senjak, named after its hay storage facilities (eng. hay - srb. seno). Through the design of its interior spaces, the program evolved, encompassing not only the classic elements of public baths such as saunas, pools, steam rooms, salt chambers, etc. but also delving into the historical significance of Roman thermae and recontextualizing it in the present day. The aim was to create an experience that goes beyond spaces for bodily and mental hygiene, incorporating spaces for social interaction, such as bars and club areas. Each ambient is meticulously designed through the selection of materials, lighting, music, water temperatures, and air humidity, all in an effort to craft a highly specific sensory experience.
