Handmade knife "Tyto alba"

Handmade knife "Tyto alba"
The fourth knife I made after recognizing that the barn owl shape can be used well in the handle. The handle is made entirely by hand (apart from drilling for the blade). Construction: hidden tang. Sheath lock securing the knife with a self-made steel spring. Steel custom sheath holder allows mounting in any plane, max. strap width (for the attached): 45mm.

Front part of the owl made of small fragments broken off by the wind from the pedunculate oak "Stubborn Mazur". It is a protected natural monument growing in the village of Młock near Ciechanów, in the Masovian Voivodeship in Poland. This oak is one of the largest trees of this species in Poland (7th or 8th thickest). In 2014, its trunk had a circumference of 0.9 m, and its height - 28 m. The wide and healthy crown (32 x 27 m) is also characteristic. The age of the tree is estimated at about 500 years. The word "Mazur" refers to the old definition of an inhabitant of Mazovia.
