On Sunday, August 6, India's second T20I match against the West Indies ended in yet another devastating loss for India. At Providence Stadium in Guyana, Nicholas Pooran hit an incredible fifty to assist West Indies defeat the opposition by two wickets when needing 153 runs to win.

The visiting team won the toss and decided to bat first because they had failed to score 149 runs in the previous game. The hosts didn't alter, but young Ravi Bishnoi replaced injured spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav's early wickets gave West Indies a promising start. Even though Ishan Kishan scored 27 runs off 23 balls, he had trouble playing aggressive cricket. Tilak Varma, though, hit his first international fifty to assist India reach a difficult total.

Pooran became the player who scored the most runs against India in T20Is with a score of 67 off 40, which included six fours and four sixes. In his 500 runs against the Men in Blue, he surpassed the mark set by former Australian captain Aaron Finch. 

However, after Pooran's dismissal in the 14th over, Indian bowlers made a strong recovery. West Indies dropped their next four wickets while scoring just three runs, nearly ending their aspirations. 

However, by scoring an unbroken 26 runs for the ninth wicket, tailenders Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph saved the game. With a victory, West Indies secured a critical 2-0 series lead and became the first team to defeat India in back-to-back contests.
