Uncertainity
(2009)

The appeal of uncertainty on the human mind, as in, the curiosity, the excitement one might connect with it, the eagerness to explore.

Schrödinger's cat equation states that there is a metal box with a cat in it along with an apparatus that might or might not kill it. But until n unless you open the box, you don't know whether the cat is dead or not, thus, to us, the cat is both dead and alive. It could be any of the two things, the only way to find out is by being CURIOUS enough to open the box.
Different faces say different things.

Relating it to the Heisenberg's uncertainty principle which says you'll know either the position of the electron or the speed, you will know either one of the sides to the garment. Therefore, to make the uncertain certain one needs to pick up the third dimension of the clothing and place it on the same plain, so that both the sides are visible to us at the same time, hence cubism.

Uniformed Quintessence
(2009)

I am an individual, and no one can take that away from me.

The society looks for many ways to mould us, make sure we're all alike. But, no matter how many rules are imposed on us, we always, consciously or unconsciously, find ways to be different or stand apart. One of the most literal and prime example of this is how we're made to wear uniforms in high school.
The purpose of uniform is to make sure we all look the same, so that no one ends up “cooler” than the other; so that there is no difference from one individual to the other. They make sure we dress alike on the outside in order to make us look like carbon copies. They try that desperately, but fail. The one thing which would still not be the same is what you wear on the inside.

Your lingerie defines you. It can tell volumes about the kind of person you are. And the one place where it's on display is the locker room.

And that pretty much describes the artwork on its own. I have picked up different clichéd high school personalities and represented them in terms of their lockers. Lockers which are completely identical on the outside and poles apart on the inside, which is the same case with our uniforms and our underclothes. The lingerie that each individual croqui is wearing also represents the kind of people they are.  The illustrations themselves are inspired from pin-up art defining the whole concept as well as the individual as a bit extreme. The different textures are used to illustrate the kind of material that can be used in order to make the lingerie which suits the personality.

Urban Mish-Mash
(2009)

Lots of contrasting colours, interesting details, and an overall casual look is what Urban Mish-mash is all about. It’s also edgy yet wearable. Since it is a summer look, we’re looking at light breathable fabrics with comfortable cuts and funky prints. The play of colours makes the whole line very lively and eye catching. The theme also talks about how different tiny details come together to make a complete ensemble, hence, the mish-mash.

The theme is not just about colours and the bright and the not gloomy; it’s definitely not about balloons or something as literal as happiness identified with them and above all, it’s NOT JUST GRAFFITE. Infact, as mentioned earlier, it’s the general mish mash of things.

The kind of graffiti pictures I picked out, well, a majority of them made me think of surrealism, primarily Salvador Dali’s work, one of the reasons why my alternative option for the theme name was ‘Surreality bites’, bites referring to the loud contrasting colours in them, talking of colours, keeping them in mind, ‘I want candy’ was one of the other theme names I thought of.

Aposematism
(2010)

Aposematism is a naturally existing phenomenon where there exists a secondary defense mechanism that warns potential predators of the existence of another primary defensive mechanism.

The organism advertises its capabilities primarily visually via bright and contrasting colouration. It cautions the foe beforehand of the potential harm it can do to it. Women too follow this suit. They carry themselves in such a manner that they send out offhand vibes to forewarn the raptor.
Pray that you get the cue… because if you don't….. too bad….. you're dead.

I am you. I mold myself to every situation. Fit myself into every puzzle. I want to experience everything life has to offer.
If there is a mountain unclimbed, i will climb it. If there is something to be seeked, I will hunt it down. I am sheer instinct. I am you.

There is work to be done. I am ambition. There is no party without me. I am everywhere. I am the zest of life.
I want adventure. I want life. Time is short but i will live.
