Remopticon: BA Thesis

"Remopticon: Redefining the Workspace" is the thesis project from my BA studies at Vakalo Art and Design College. As remote work swiftly became the "new normal" after the pandemic, the lines between the private and public spheres of our lives began to blur. Inspired by the theoretical concepts of Foucault's Panopticon and Bentham's Synopticon, "Remopticon" embodies an exploration of these notions through the intersection of theory and graphic design. Screenshots captured through webcam serve as the primary medium, capturing the subject engaged in their remote work environment. The visual identity, created for an online conference, not only provokes thought on surveillance practices but also highlights how the subject's identity is being expropriated within our societies of control.

I would like to kindly thank my thesis supervisors George Tsavalos and Sofia Tsourti for their guidance and endless support.
