The most intriguing aspect of being is our inability to live without association. Our human connection manifests involuntarily often through our similarities and sometimes because of our differences. Our relationships have more to do with the recognition of a person or people’s existence rather than needing to fully understand it. Culture and tradition is a manifestation of connection that greatly influences our identity and way of life. My work illustrates our involuntary affiliation as a people. I am interested in presenting images inspired by cultural appropriation and the re-invention of cultures that shape, define or transform our identity.
