A CARE FOR WILD INITIATIVE

Care For Wild is a highly unsung hero in the battle against rhino extinction. Rhino calves orphaned by poaching incidents in the greater Kruger area are in desperate need of intensive care, and at Care For Wild they receive exactly that. Funding for a project like this is crucial, as formula for bottle-feeding the rhino calves is exorbitantly expensive to produce - not to mention the costs of maintaining the reserve, enclosures and paying of staff who care for the animals and patrol its perimeter for security against outside attacks.

Care For Wild realized the need for people to  experience their work up close, and so introduced a visitor programme - the pinnacle of which is their bushcamp facility named 'Synergy', an idyllic little spot in the bush to break away from the bustle of everyday life, but more so to see rehabilitated rhino in their natural habitat.
