Places I Have Lived

This project started as a way to commemorate the house I grew up in when my father sold the house and downsized after becoming an empty nester. I illustrated a very loose interpretation of our house from memory. It was made from vector lines and flat blocks of a single spot color. The details weren't important. It was more the recollection of the house than a proper image of it.
From the original concept it turned into a series "Places I Have Lived," which allowed me to put all of my addresses and homes into a place of significance.

I would gift prints of there to roommates upon moving out. At about that time people started to commission them, and that's when they took a turn visually. Since I didn't actually live in these place, I started using reference images and they became more detail oriented. In a way they became more true portraits of homes.
