A French bound book held closed with buttons.  Cherry blossom ribbon along the spine to reference the Japanese subject matter.  I can't deny, my favorite reason to do French bound is because of the ribbon.

You can see some of the interior pages, which have pockets holding origami, calligraphy, and some acetone transfers of Japanese woodblock prints.
