TAO Bench
Shou-Sugi-Ban is a traditional Japanese method of wood preservation. Through a slight carbonization of the surface of the wood it becomes waterproof and more durable. This technique gives the wood an elegant, opaque and bright appearance, similar to velvet, VELVET.

It is contradictory for us to protect the wood by burning it.

Yin and yang (ā€˜dark-brightā€™) are two concepts of Taoism, which are used to represent the duality that this philosophy attributes to everything in the universe. Two opposing and complementary fundamental forces.
According to this idea, each being, object or thought has a complement that depends on its existence. These two forces, YIN and YANG, would be the next phase after TAO, the generating principle of all things.

We decided to merge these 2 concepts to bringĀ TAO BenchĀ to life.
