As an illustrator working primarily in black and white, using pen and ink as my medium of choice, I have found a world of creativity and expression within the simplicity of monochrome. The stark contrast between light and shadow, the intricacies of fine lines, and the absence of color have allowed me to craft visually striking and emotionally evocative illustrations.
In my artistic process, I begin with rough sketches to explore various ideas and compositions. Once I've settled on a direction, I move onto the final drawing, meticulously using different types of pen nibs to achieve the desired line quality and texture. This part of the process requires patience and a steady hand, but it is incredibly rewarding to see the image come to life with every stroke of the pen.

Being an illustrator in the digital age has its advantages, as I can scan my completed pen and ink artwork and make necessary adjustments or add digital effects while still preserving the integrity of the original piece. This flexibility allows me to experiment and push the boundaries of traditional pen and ink techniques, blending the old with the new to create contemporary and visually engaging illustrations.
