7 Creative Strategies
This project will be a visual representation of a simple household object (makeup brush) through the lens of the 7 Creative Strategies, developing original and creative new concepts and ideas.
1. COMBINATIONS
The idea here is to combine two different things, that are not related to each other and realize their similitudes. I combined a makeup brush set with a paintbrush set, because I wanted to highlight the paint function in both tools, even when they use different canvases. Also, I wanted to highlight the shape and material similarities between the brushes.

2. JUXTAPOSITION
The idea here is to combine two different things, that are not related to each other and highlight their differences, in this case, I intertwine a set of steel food tools with the plastic makeup brush because I wanted to achieve that juxtaposition by highlighting the material and usability difference because both tools are used almost every day by humans but they have different purposes.

3. ISOLATION
The main purpose here is to focus the viewer’s attention on an element, which in this case is the makeup brush at the front, but to achieve that focus we place a woman shadow ground to increment the focus on the makeup brush and at the same time to invoke the female touch that makeup brings.

4. METAPHOR/SIMILE
The idea here is to create a concept of specific meaning with the selected non related objects. In this case, I am using two makeup brushes, one is thinner, shorter, and has a different color. So, the scenario is the little brush looking at herself in the mirror but, is not happy because the smaller brush would like to be like social media tell her to be, which in this case is represented by the taller pink makeup brush. So, the smaller brush is trying to imagine how life would be if she was like the other taller and hair long brushes. The metaphor is the comparison creating a non-acceptance culture and complexed people around the world.

5. CHANGE OF CONTEXT OR ENVIRONMENT
As the name says the purpose here is to change the context of the object. In this case, we have the makeup brush ready to blend the egg for baking, which as we know never will happen in real life. Also, the image title refers to the "baking" technique applied with powder makeup and the makeup brush, and the baking time of delicious desserts.

6. PHYSICAL SHAPE SIMILARITY
We use physical similitudes to highlight the relations between objects that normally don’t match each other. In this "Sea Secrets" image I am highlighting the sea-shell shape by leaving it in its usual environment and matching the makeup brush handle perfectly as if the sea-shell was the hair of the brush.

7. MATERIAL CHANGE, SWAP, OR FOCUS
Here I am switching the texture or material of my makeup brush to another unusual, which is human hair, plus, curly human hair to achieve the focus and viewer's attention. The title makes also a reference to a look change because the makeup brushes have always straight hair.
