Project: Share the Happiness is a video advertisement promoting Coca Cola for educational purposes to hone my skills in cinematography, video editing, color grading, and sound design. 

The video project itself covers the feeling of nostalgia and emotions felt during the pandemic, showcasing a young man reminiscing the times he spent with his friends as they shared coke and all the shenanigans they pulled over the years. Going into present time, we find the young man get in call with his friends, still able to speak and see each other through the screen of a computer and share a coke.

Thought Process

I wanted to follow in the footsteps of the children of Marilen Magsaysay, who made a commercial for Katinko, that focused on simple story telling, with an effective choice in musical score.

I tend to overcomplicate my ideas, so for this project I want to focus on the basics and fundamentals, allowing myself to stick to a simple story and idea, but still bringing out the best possible outcome, with good color grading, and an effective choice in musical score. 

Execution

In terms of execution, I will be using shots of a previous project that I never finished, and polishing on the original idea. I will also be choosing royalty free music produced by Kevin Macleod who has put his productions under Public Domain, and I will put it over the shots, using Premiere Pro for editing, clean-up, and color grading.

Steering away from the inspiration that I had for this project, I will not be adding any conversations, dialogues, or monologues in this project, rather I will let the music score choice, and the scenes shot speak for themselves as I believe that words aren’t always needed to convey a strong message. Especially with a message as strong but simple as “Share the Happiness” 

The idea of the story is simple, and I have already plotted out a storyboard that properly shows off the flow of the story.
