Patient IQ Now Powers AAOS FTR Registry

A Washington orthopedic surgeon from Gig Harbor, Ian B. Lawson, MD, has been in this field since the late 1980s. In addition to his work with this practice, Dr. Ian B. Lawson is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Specialists (AAOS), an organization that engages in health policy and advocacy for orthopedic surgeons and their patients.

In December 2022, the AAOS announced that the Patient IQ platform now powers its Fracture & Trauma Registry (FTR). The FTR is an anatomical and evidence-based registry that practitioners can use to provide improved quality care for patients. Patient IQ is the largest and fastest-growing technology platform that provides actionable insights derived from patient outcomes.

Patient IQ will integrate FTR’s participant electronic health record platform into its cloud platform so physicians can collect and submit outcomes data. The Patient IQ platform will translate critical health information into the registry and submit it to orthopedic surgeons. This platform eases the technical and administrative problems related to submitting procedural, post-operative, and patient-reported outcomes.

According to Patient IQ CEO, Matthew Gitelis, providing quality patient care starts with understanding how clinical procedure impact patient outcomes. Patient IQ is glad to reduce the technical burdens associated with retrieving this information.
