She has been taken from their sheltered palace, leaving her placed in an entirely new world. She tries her best to adapt but it’s futile. She has been deprived entirely of familiarity and is lost in this new place. Her compass is broken and yet, she tries to find her way back home.
She didn’t know how long it would take, let alone where to go, but she was determined to find familiarity. As she begins her journey, her feet began to sink into the ground and each step took exceptional amounts of strength.
A few weeks into her trek and her mind has begun to spin. Though this new world is hot and dry, she’s lost all feeling from being so cold and detached. The only person she’s able to confide with is herself, thus, her consciousness is at war.
As she reminisces about her old life, she starts to understand why she feels so cold. The one she had trusted the most left her with bruises that will never fade. The pain it bears reveals itself as being her most fierce obstacle yet. Though she brushes off the feeling of betrayal, it continuously lingers.
Exhaustion begins to set in and the road she walks is longer than she could’ve imagined. She feels a mass of defeat and dejection on her shoulders and as the sun sets, she wonders if she’ll be able to make it through the night.
The sun began to rise and the warmth of the rays on her face wake her. To her surprise, she survived. She soon realizes that, for once, she felt warmth and a wave of optimism rushes through her. Alas, she arrived home.
