ORCHID BEE
Biomimicry is the primal source of inspiration for most things around us. Our diverse biosphere has many intriguing creatures, some known, some unknown. One such magnificent creature is the Orchid Bee. These brightly colored insects spend their lives buzzing around the tropical forests of central and South America, searching for exotic orchids. The males absorb fragrances from these orchids into their hind legs, turning them into perfumes over time. The more complex the scent produced, the more chances of them attracting a female bee.
This form and texture study inspired by the unique creature is an attempt to emulate its complexity and elegance.
