The Candidates of Mars –– Zahid Paningrome (Penerbit Beruang, 2022)
Last December, I got another book cover project.
It was Zahid himself who asked me to illustrate the cover for his fifth novel. Having illustrated two of his previous novels, Dimana Badai Sembunyi (2019) and Lama-lama Kita Sama, Sama-sama Pernah Lama (2021), it was an honor to get a chance to visualize more of his work.

Under the genre of futuristic dystopian fiction, thrilling and bizarre sums up my personal opinion after finished reading the draft. I admire Zahid's ability to tailor the words, which made it a big success to bring this kind of genre to an engaging set of deliverables.
All the elements of the illustration were chosen deliberately from the point of view of the book—as well as the symbolism.
I had drawn too much on the project, and decided to make some references for the cover.
