This work is an exploration of the dual processes of perception and memory. I am fascinated with the unknowable difference between the physical information we are provided by the world, and the translation of that information into a meaningful form by the intricacies of our own brains. 

 

Experiencing something in a meaningful form is followed by another unknowable act: Experience becomes memory. The translation of any given moment in time is dutifully filed away for later recall. It is this act of recall that is at the heart of Acoustic Negatives.
