This is a project entitled Ghetto. Shachi & I have yet again joined forces to create Art pieces that will still stand out in memory

Here is Shachi Srivastava's half of the painting. We had many discussions about how we should depict this story. Shachi was inspired by Pablo Picasso's Cubism art & It actually fits like a glove with the art piece. This the modern sophisticated half of the city.

I wanted to create something harsh yet beautiful because I believe in every ghetto despite the harsh reality of circumstances there are diamonds & pearls in each crevice of the jungle. The Favelas in Brazil together with Jasper John's Map painting inspired me to go raw & gritty with my acrylic/oil painting of the piece.

The Favela painting took about 4 hours to paint with acrylics & oils
