I did this whole project with Sharpie markers, my weapon of choice before I got my Wacom Tablet. Typically I'll sketch in pencil and then outline with marker and go. These illustration pictures start after I have outlined the main letters and the heart, and I am about to start stipling the flowers.

Around 30 hours of work at this point.
For a moment, I thought I was losing my mind as I sat there drawing dots on paper for hours on end.
I constructed the frame by hand with wood from Home Depot.
I adhered the main picture to black matte board. This piece was not meant to come apart.
The final product is 30" X 20" with a handmade wood and glass frame. All in all I think I spent about 40 hours on this project.
