Observing these women, my mother and grandmothers, as the individuals they truly embody, has allowed me the opportunity to find out who I am and who I want to become. In some form or another, each of these women have bestowed upon me their experience and knowledge, which has shaped my identity. As I move towards new stages in life, I use these women as reference for the questions I still need to answer. With this work, I not only see myself when I look in the mirror, but I see Adele, Irene, and Anna Marie.
By the process of mirroring found imagery and creating pattern like compositions, I am reintroducing myself, my true identity as a woman, in my family.
