Each summer, I make new work with the restriction that I may not purchase any new material and that I may only use material I already have in my studio. Some years ago, I had found tiles from the Keith Haring Foundation at a local flea market.
As part of another project about "Hydrogen, the new gold," I still had gold and black glass mosaic lying around.
Keith Haring tiles are designed to be combined with other tiles in situ (bathrooms, kitchens,...) in order to anchor Keith Haring's work in everyday life, such as street art.
The idea is to elevate the tile as a medium of art, and to treat it as a “canvas” in all respects: both as a support for art and as an objet d’art on its own. The collection will present a complete immersion in the style and poetics of a single artist.

My "Tribute to Street Art" was born from this idea.
