Save the Music PSA Poster Project

The purpose of this project was to create a set of 3 PSA posters as part of a campaign to educate viewers about a cause. The idea was to bring awareness to the cause and motivate the viewer to a specific action.
Yellow poster with little girl playing guitar, a cartoon brain sits atop her head lifting weights. Text discusses how playing musical instruments strengthens the brain.
The organization I chose was Save the Music. Their mission is to help students, schools, and communities reach their full potential through the power of making music.
The goal of the campaign is to educate viewers on the benefits of music to education and development, and to motivate them to get involved with Save the Music.
Salmon pink poster with little boy playing piano, a cartoon brain sits atop his head meditating. Text discusses how playing musical instruments affects the motor cortices in the brain.
The approach I've taken is to share facts about how music affects the brain. I created graphics using photos of children playing musical instruments, with cartoon style brains illustrating the effects on the brain.
Light pink poster with little girl playing violin, a cartoon brain sits atop her head shaped like a violin. Text discusses how playing musical instruments physically changes the brain.
Each poster includes a call to action, inviting viewers to visit Save the Music's website to learn how they can become involved with the organization to help provide instruments and keep music in schools.
