I created a photo essay emulating the style of American photographer Jane Alden Stevens. I was inspired by her Witness Marks exhibition. The exhibition's photos featured the subject using shadows to interact with the environment. I took photos in different settings such as my neighborhood, a city, and a state park. I wanted to get a variety of photos featuring hands interacting with different objects. I had to shoot in harsh lighting conditions, such as extremely sunny days, to get visible shadows. Overall, I enjoyed this shoot and experimenting with shadows to create shapes.
