I choose student success because as an incoming freshman I wanted to learn more about the resources I would have here at UTSA. I wanted to focus on time management skills since I plan on getting a part time job and want to start managing my time well to not feel overwhelmed for when I do start working. Additionally, I believe having good time management skills definitely helps when transitioning to your first year of college. 

To work on my time managements skills I would do planners, to-do lists, and use calendars to organize the things I needed to do and get done.

Something I dealt with most of the time was that there'd be certain days of the week where I would get out of my downtown classes late and that wouldn't give me enough time to cook or go to the cafeteria to eat so on those certain dates, I would meal prep and wouldn't have to worry about buying food.

I got to join the American Institue of Architecture Students (AIAS). It is an organization that has helped me for the classes I'm taking related to my major.

I was able to meet with my academic advisor to go over my degree plan for my major. I learned to navigate through degree works and got more information on what's expected for the career I had chosen.

In this research, I learned that there are many factors as to why college students struggle with time management so much. One of those factors include stress, college students usually start to feel stressed when dealing with projects, exams, classes, and tasks. This starts to affect them with their time and how to manage it since it can start to feel overwhelming for them.

Throughout my experience I've learned that when it comes to managing your time well it's always good to start with to-do lists to have an idea of what you want to do and get done for that day/week. Organizing your schedule can improve and make your day easier. Getting involved and talking with other people who have more experience than you can also be very helpful especially when you feel lost and confused on a certain topic.
