Project Summary & Goals:
For my social media ad campaign project, I was focusing on disaster relief. Specifically disaster relief for the residents of Florida after Hurricane Ian. For this project, I focused on creating graphic, incorporating logos, developing taglines, writing social media copy, and finding popular hashtags. I have many friends and family members directly affected by the recent Hurricane Ian destruction throughout Florida so this project focus is very close to me. This ad campaign is focused on the charity/foundation “Global Giving”.

My goal for this project was to create a bold and memorable ad campaign that stands out on social media, specifically Instagram. The campaign pulls at the heart strings through imagery, encourages the reader to help out by donating with a strong CTA, and shows credibility through facts and information about the Global Giving organization. I started this project by researching Hurricane Ian and Global Giving Foundation.

Research Information on Hurricane Ian:
-Hurricane Ian - destructive category 4 hurricane
-Deadliest hurricane to strike Florida since 1935
-Wide destruction across Cuba and Florida
-Damage: $67.2 Billion Dollars
-Atleast 119 deaths
-The climate crisis is causing storms to intensify more rapidly

After researching the organzation and Hurricane Ian, I researched images of the devastation from the storm, weather model of the hurricane, and logos/color schemes used for GlobalGiving.
Next, I chose I typeface I wanted to use in the graphics for my ad campaign along with a color scheme. 
For the next step, I wrote out sample ad copy. This included what would be seen as text and hashtags for the Instagram posts.
Next, I combined these elements to start mocking up my graphics. Below are 3 of the graphics I created in my brainstorm phase.
After gathering feedback from colleagues and fine tuning my ad campaign, below is the final product.
Overall, I was able to research about a social cause close to me, build out a brand, create a visual identity, create powerful ad copy for social media, and design social graphics.
