I had recently seen the news about Altos Labs and their vision for the applications of STEM Cells. Following that, I started reading up on the development of STEM cells and learned about a major contributor,  Shinya Yamanaka. I created a portrait of a personal idol to reflect not just my admiration for the man, but also his dedication and discoveries that led to his Nobel Prize, and entered this as my submission for the My Hero competition.
