Non-profit Rock in Prevention is an organization promoting music education and social-emotional learning (SEL) among children and teens. Rock in Prevention’s online platform, Rock Digi, seeks to reach more young people through online modules, videos, and activities.

Rock Digi began as a way for young people to learn about their own physical, mental, emotional, and social health. The platform is also intended for guardians and educators to help facilitate these skills at home and in the classroom. The program is user-friendly and supports multiple learning styles.

Rock Digi’s most recent addition to the platform is a program specifically aimed at teens in middle and high school. The new module is “Mental Health, SEL, and Substance Abuse Prevention for Grades 7-12.” Students in this age group often deal with various forms of peer pressure, sometimes leading to risk-taking and substance abuse.

The readings, videos, and exercises in the program are geared toward teaching students to understand their feelings, including anxiety and depression. They also provide information on how mental and emotional health factor into substance use, as well as important tools for seeking help and resisting substance use.
