InnoPolis — Web & Logo Design | Branding

The Client

InnoPolis is an NGO/NPO with over 15 years of experience in EU funded projects, promoting environmental protection, cultural heritage, tourism development, new technologies and entrepreneurship. In the last year a major internal restructuring took place, which prompted a need for rebranding in order to reflect that.
My role

My task was to help InnoPolis during these major changes with their brand identity and brand image. Differentiate themselves from their past self and redefine the company's vision, mission, and values. I redesigned the logo, created the brand identity, which was used for the website and social media, and designed a wide range of items for use both online and offline.
Logo Design

A circular -rounded- custom typeface was created to accommodate the brand’s aesthetic, values, and vision.
The clean, minimal lines with a unique cap heigh and letter-spacing and rounded shoulder captures the essence of the company.
Additionally the font chosen Geometria for the tagline “Centre for Innovation and Culture” is an elegant and dynamic, with hints of nostalgic, typeface composed of clean shapes that is well-suited for reading in various sizes.
Typography

For brand typography we’ve chosen Poppins. It is geometric in style, clean, and includes 18 different font weights, from thin to black. Thanks to this range of font styles and the font’s open feel, Poppins is great for both headlines and paragraph copy to improve readability and style. It's a gorgeous, expertly crafted typeface that can meet all the needs: both online and offline, of a modern company.
Colors

Innopolis brand identity uses a mostly monochrome palette, based on green tints and shades to evoke a feeling of new beginning and growth. Lighter and darker tones of green have been used throughout the website as accent colors, while the shade of green used in the logo has been reserved for call to action buttons.

The monochrome color scheme was selected to reflect the environmental nature of the projects that InnoPolis is part of as well as the company's vision, mission, and values.
Website

A very important part of the project was the redesign of the website, which had to adhere to the new brand identity. The former website's design was archaic, lacked a uniform look and feel throughout, and was not optimised for mobile users or modern search engines. As we are all aware, a website is often considered the doorway to a company's entire range of services.

As a result, InnoPolis’ website had to be completely redesigned from the ground up!

To meet the client's demands for ease of use and continuous uploads, a bespoke theme was developed and imported inside the Wordpress content management system (CMS). Forefront SEO practices were implemented, with the purpose of maximising the company’s online presence and increasing the website’s ranking in search engine results.
