Project Brief:
The brief consisted of creating a modern and minimal logo for a pop-up coffee shop found at the Qatari Airports in Doha. It also included the need of having both the Arabic and English versions of the logo found in the same layout.
Project execution:
Being that name of the concept coffee shop was already decided upon, an in depth research was conducted into how to merge TILAL, meaning valleys and hills in Arabic, with the idea of coffee. The final logo created was a fusion of the hand grab when you hold coffee in hand and a modernized version of how minimal valleys and hills would look like if drawn without details. The idea of unattached typography is a poetic message hinting on the fact that there is some sort of disconnection between ourselves and what’s surrounding us, and here’s why coffee and nature unite us. The color palette is earthy and neutral to convey a sense or peace and calmness within the customer and asymmetrical shapes were used to depict flow, transition, and moving to a higher level through the power of TILAL.
