This is the product of my first experiment with hollow core casting, Shakudo, and Kuem-boo. Shakudo is a Japanese alloy traditionally consisting of 96% copper and 4% gold, although these percentages can change and Silver can be added. My Shakudo is 90% Copper, 5% Gold, and 5% Silver. Keum-boo is a Korean process of applying a very thin 23.5k gold foil to the surface of an other metal using heat and pressure. The patina I used is a japanese patina called Su-Tanpan. Everything process I did in this project I was doing for the first time, my decisions when making this piece where pretty impulsive.
