Local residents of Bhaktapur burns an effigy of a mythical demon ‘Ghantakarna’ during the celebration of a Newa festival, Gathamuga, on Tuesday at Dattatrai,Bhaktapur.

The festival is celebrated on Shrawan Krishna Chaturdashi across the Kathmandu Valley, marking the death of the demon. The festivals also marks the beginning of celebration of other festivals.
