Here is an animation I made im Blender of 3 fully textured rocks which have been keyframe animated to shapeshift.

I was originally working on a separate project which included rocks, but as I was making these rocks, I decided pause the original project so that I could experiment with creating different shaped rocks using displacement mapping.  This animation was the outcome of that experimentation.
