The people I documented in my first series, Utopia, were connected by the building they lived in. It was the Cvernovka building on Košická Street in Bratislava, where its inhabitants woke up every day in a place that was never intended for housing. There were various reasons for this. However, they found a common ground. Everything about the planned demolition of Cvernovka changed everything. My photos suddenly showed people who were soon to lose their homes.

I am working on the final part of my several-year documentation. I come with the former inhabitants of Cvernovka to the place where their home once was. I photograph them in the backdrop of the construction site. Sometimes they bring their personal belongings and take turns in the rubble. They try to look at home in front of the camera. But what has these people have in common? A common home that has been turned into a construction site?
If they were ever a family, the character of that family changed. Will this series mean the end of it?
