16th Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee Chairmanship Official Seals
Studio 1027 was tapped to create seals for the three committees of the 16th Sangguninang Panglungsod for the City of Cebu, Philippines. These seals will be used by the respective committees for their reports, recommendations, and other official documents.
The direction of this project is to create clear, simple, legible, and straightforward seals that represent each sectors that the committee characterizes in the council. These symbols are designed to be recognizable even when printed in small sizes and on black and white forms.
These clear and distinct seals are aided by accompanying colors, which will be of great help to separate these committees from the others, giving them a more nuanced identity.
COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT & NATURAL RESOURCES
The seal consists of three symbols: tree, sea, mountain, and minerals that create an abstract symbol. Accompanied by the color green, the seal sets a tone that represent the richness of the environment.
COMMITTEE ON ENERGY, POWER, & UTILITY
The seal has two parts: a gear that symbolizes utility, and a light bulb for power and energy. It is paired with the colors red and yellow, giving it a more utilitarian and industrialized feel.
COMMITTEE ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION MANAGEMENT & SAFETY
The seal uses two symbols that are universally associated with emergency response -- the Maltese Cross and the Star of Life with the Rod of Asclepius. Using these symbols results in a more recognizable and straightforward approach, highly reflecting of the sector it represents.
