Poster design for the 8th Interstellar Symposium
Poster illustration created for the 8th Interstellar Symposium to be held on the 10th to 13th of July, 2023 at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The Interstellar Symposium Plenary Lectures focus on applied aspects of interstellar travel (human and robotic). Presentations are selected to represent a broad array of problems salient to different interstellar missions with topics ranging from propulsion systems to the human factors needing to be considered for interstellar travel (e.g. on generation ships) and the associated ethics.
The poster depicts a solar sail passing an exo-planet with a von Neumann probe in the process of constructing its second stage "base" on an asteroid.

The primary assets were created with a mix of Cinema4D and Blender for 3D modelling and then rendered using Otoy's Octane Render. The illustration was composited in Adobe Photoshop while the nebula backgrounds are from my starfield packs available here.
