Along with a great friend, I built a SUP board from scratch, following plans from Jarvis Boards. I had very little experience with woodworking, so this was a big learning experience. 

One of the customizations i wanted to make to the board was a Shou Sugi Ban treatment on the sidewalls. I have been inspired by this Japanese technique for a long time and this  was a good opportunity to try it. 

Once the board was fully built, I took a torch to it and just went for it!
