A to Jazz Festival is an annual event with a mission to spread and promote jazz and improvised music among young people. The festival first began in 2011, when a team of young and motivated people decided to mark the beginning of the summer with a music fest.
The SEA Jazz Poster Idea
As a part of my Final Exam for the Illustrator Fundamentals Course in SoftUni Creative I had to design a jazz music festival poster related to the event above. All my life I've been living in our country's sea capital - Varna, so that's why for the location, I chose Varna and it's Sea Port.
Firstly, I started thinking about visualising some musicians, after that I was focused on musical instruments, but I wasn't happy at all. One day, while lying on the beach, I realized what I was missing, and as a sea child, I decided to focus on the beach, the city, and it's vibes. That's how the idea of my jazz poster came.
The first phase was sketching the three main figures - sax, trumpet, and the most sea-related one - the lighthouse. After that I vectorised them, and that's how everything started....
