cork modular sofa
Cork Modular Sofa is a sofa with a set of modules with different configurations, sizes, colors and materials defined by the customer.
After purchase, each sofa module can be rearranged by the user, having an opening for a table, where you can store utensils such as a book, a remote control or put down a glass, a cell phone, etc...
The piece can even be configured, with 1 or 2 modules, if defined by the customer, and when it has more than 3 modules, changing different pieces, with different shades and sizes, creates very interesting possibilities.

The design typology of this piece is in the contrast between the body and the structure, being relevant in its materials.
The structure is cold, raw and made of metal.
The body is natural, biophilic inspired (chestnuts) and made of organic material (cork).
The sofa has an element of interaction with the user in the idea that the customization and configuration of the piece is completely dependent on the user, and this freedom is in the way the modules are positioned, with different openings, with the possibility of LEDs creating environments for different situations, such as reading, watching a movie, etc…

This project was developed in partnership with Movecho, a Portuguese-Swiss furniture brand, with the aim of creating a product that follows luxury market trends within the concept of Biophilic Design.
First, we analyzed the brand and its competition, followed by a study of relevant topics.
Then, we created concepts, shapes and designs that fit into a space that we defined. In the end, the intention is to present the proposal to Movecho.
