Typography Project

I started out by researching the requirements. After that I had to figure out what design I would create that integrated the use of typography. I then decided I would make multiple flier advertisements for various fictional businesses. In those fliers I would include text using different fonts that balance and blend with each other. The first business I came up with was an arts and crafts shop that would sell items such as pottery and paintings. In an effort to add some visual appeal to the flier I searched and added some images to the design. The first one was a group of pottery, which I cut out of its background using the magic wand tools and masking techniques. To give it some depth I added a drop shadow effect. The second image was a canvas painting of an elephant. The next step was to add more text that would serve as the description. For this aspect I used a similar font to the one used just above it, to keep a sense of consistency.  I used the same process on the second flier that would be for a pizza establishment. I wanted this one to have a completely different look that was more elegant. I did that by choosing the assortment of fonts carefully. I also used some images to construct a brand logo and included a New York city skyline at the bottom for a visual that completed the design. The same process was used for the second page of fliers, but those incorporated a lot more images into the design.
