This watercolour artwork of a yellow-tailed black cockatoo flying with colourful flames filling the background was created originally for the Hahndorf Lantern Festival 2019. The painting might also symbolise rebirth after fire and the reliance on fire for many Australian plants to germinate (like the banksia the bird is carrying).
