About Us
Stories of Yesterday is a podcast produced and hosted by Stevie Ike. This podcast focuses on sharing historical stories of events, people, and the perspectives these aspects shape for podcast listeners. Many listeners for this podcast are adults between the ages of 25 and 54, and share an emphatic interest in learning about and sharing information relating to history.
Brand Elements
We decided to approach the historical aspect of Stories of Yesterday through the incorporation of an inkwell with a quill, a form of writing utilized to create many of the world's most renowned documents. With this, we incorporated contrasting font styles (serif and script) to combine the modern approach of a podcast with the timeless, classic appearance of historical writings. Additionally, our color palette and pattern designs expound upon the created typography, creating a calming atmosphere for the listener and providing extended items and componentry with a sense of belonging.
Identity Package
Our brand identity makes great usage of our patterns and color palette, as well as utilizes our brand iconography in new ways. The usage of a pen line trailing after the quill accentuates the overall purpose of the identity package, which is to provide customers and clients with written or typed messages. Additionally, the usage of color throughout all identity elements adds flair and excitement to the package, enticing recipients to read through the letter's contents or further communicate with the podcast.
Brand Collateral
With our brand collateral, we sought ways in which to effectively advertise the Stories of Yesterday brand outside of traditional means. While the client requested that traditional advertisement mediums be included within the final presentation, we incorporated other practical items that would most likely be used by listeners of the podcast for personal enjoyment. This is shown through the themed mugs and beanie hat.
