Monarch Plaza Rededication Graphics

DRAW worked with the City of Kansas City, MO, to design "Monarch Plaza" in 2013. In 2021, we worked with the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum to revitalize and refurbish the site. This revitalization involved adding Jackie Robinson to the cadre of players commemorated on the site, a new sign marking the site's historical context as the location of KC's Municipal Stadium and an email invitation.

Monarch Manor Plaza Rededication Ceremony Email Graphic:
Happening on May 6, the day Jackie Robinson broke the Major League Baseball color barrier, the rededication invitation uses visual cues from historical references and the game of baseball.
Kansas City Municipal Stadium Historical Marker:
Using historical references, I approximated the original signage typeface, and added references to the stadium's architectural details and former neighborhood businesses to set the visual tone.
