About Miguel Peguero
I am currently a junior at Patriot High School and I would like to become an architect. My goals in this field are to design and draw out plans for many buildings where people can create memories and live. The buildings I want to plan out will be modern, simple, and safe. I will stand out from others in my field because of my creativity and using my imagination to create different ideas that are fun, yet peculiar. Some extracurricular activities I participate in include:
-George Mason's Early Identification Program ( Program in which George Mason gives kids who are aspiring first generation college students tutoring and other academic support)
-Soccer
Work I have done
I have worked on many articles throughout the year. Most have been centered around soccer, including the U.S.A world cup qualifiers. One of my favorite articles to have worked on was about Governor Glenn Youngkin and his stand on the mask's mandates in Virginia schools. Other articles I have worked on include 2022 Qatar world cup qualifiers, a summary of the U.S.A world cup qualifiers in October of 2021, and the Ahmaud Arbery trial which took place in November of 2021.
Work I would like to do
I have worked on many articles throughout the year. This last quarter I would like to focus on current news events. Some current events I would like to draft an article about are the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and the current COVID news around the world. These events currently affect lives in the us with gas prices going up and new COVID variants being discovered. Some other projects I would like to work on are more architectural and engineering based, like learning how to draw buildings and house sketches which will help me in the future when I start to learn more about civil engineering and architecture.
