Brief

The Arts and Culture Programme improves the look and feel of the Trust's hospitals in Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, providing creative wellbeing opportunities for staff and patients.

Following other successful collaborations with the Programme, including event sub-branding for the inaugural Weston Arts & Health Weekender and the first two issues of the nation-widely distributed boredom buster magazine during the Covid-19 pandemic, I was commissioned to create a visual identity that would be used across all touchpoints.

The programme is dedicated to its mission of improving the clinical environments in hospitals and is a proponent of the well-adopted truth that arts activities can promote good mental health and aid physical recovery.

It was important that, while giving the programme its own marque and other visual collateral, it was instantly recognised as being a part of the NHS. Working within the rigid brand guidelines of the NHS to produce something unique yet familiar was a fun challenge that involved several collaborative workshops with the team.
