Overview
People is a well-known, weekly magazine with curated celebrity news and human interest stories. Each issue is divided into sections, including: news, entertainment, lifestyle, shopping and smaller subsections. Yearly special issues naming “Sexist Man Alive,” “Best & Worst Dressed,” and “World’s Most Beautiful,” are some of People’s most notable work.

Problem
People excels at keeping content fresh and relevant with juicy gossip and groundbreaking news stories. However, after 40 years of production there has been little to no growth in the design of their publication, leaving the magazine feeling generic and outdated.

Solution
The concept for this rebrand is to utilize the drama of the content in a visual way to draw in readers. The intent is to keep the current contents of People and emphasize the juicy gossip and stories through bold and energetic design components. Through bold & communicative typography, eye-catching colors & dynamic shapes the magazine will come to life in a way that feels fresh and exciting to viewers.
