Under the guise of a fashion photography study, I assisted boyfriend Jean in planning a surprise proposal to his girlfriend (now fiancée!), Fery. We spent about ninety minutes taking solo shots of the two, to truly conceal our plan. Eventually I directed the pair to the spot Jean and I had scouted ahead of time.
Then, Jean gave me the signal.
I directed Fery to pose, facing away from Jean. Jean got down on his knee. Then I told Fery to turn back to her partner - and managed to capture the exact moment of surprise and joy when she realized he was holding a ring!
This was such a special moment to be a part of. I'm thankful to have been able to help make it happen. And we of course couldn't leave before getting some romantic photos of the newly engaged couple!
