BACKGROUND

시간은 눈에 보이지 않습니다.그 시간에 기반한 목표 또한 보이지 않습니다. 많은 사람들이 정해진 시간 동안 하고자 하는 일을 목표로 삼고 행하지만 마음처럼 쉬운 일이 아닙니다.

Time is not tangible. We can't see any goals based on the time either.Many people aim to do what they want to do in a set time, but it's not always possible as they think.

MOTIVE

클래퍼 보드는 극작품, 방송 프로그램 등에서 사용되는 촬영 도구 입니다. 촬영을 시작하고 끝마칠때 정보를 적고 카메라 앞에서 위에 달린 막대를 내리쳐 딱! 소리를 냅니다. 통상 슬레이트를 친다 합니다. 영상과 소리를 각각 따로 녹화,녹음하는 촬영 현장에서는 클래퍼보드는 필수적으로 필요합니다. 영상 편집시 소리의 싱크를 하나로 통일하기 위해서죠. 클래퍼보드 또한 막대를 내리치는 시각화를 통해 현장의 모두에게 하나의 가이드를 잡아주는 역할을 합니다.

Clapperboard is a filming tool used in plays and broadcasting programs. At the beginning and end of the scene, they write down the information, hit the stick in front of the camera and make a clapping sound. Clapperboards are essential at the filming site, because the videos and sound are recorded separately. It is a sign to unify the sync of sound when editors edit the videos. Clapperboards also serve to hold a guide for everyone in the field through visualization of hitting bars.

이러한 클래퍼 보드를 모티브로 탁상 알람시계를 구성했습니다. 시간이라는 보이지 않는 것을 시각화 함으로써 내가 목표한 일을 시간 안에 완료할 수 있도록 도와줍니다.

With the motif of the clapperboards, we constructed an alarm desk clock. By visualizing invisible time itself, it helps people complete a goal in time.

상단의 노랑 버튼은 야간에 불빛이 나오는 버튼입니다. 검정 다이얼은 알람의 소리를 조절 할 수 있습니다. 우측의 두개의 다이얼은 시계의 날짜 및 시간을 조절합니다.

The yellow button on the top is a button that lights up at night. Using the black dial, you can control the loudness of the alarm sound.

The two dials on the right side is for adjusting the date and time of the clock.

슬레이트에 부착된 막대를 올리고 시간을 설정합니다. 막대는 서서히 내려오며 정해진 시간을 향해 나아갑니다. 설정한 시간이 되면 알람음과 함께 움직임은 종료됩니다.

Raise the bar attached to the slate and set the time. The bar slowly descends and moves toward a set time. When the bar reaches at the set time, the clock movement stops with the alarm sound.

전면의 스틸판은 기존 클래퍼 보드에 정보를 적듯 자신의 메모장처럼 사용할 수 있습니다. 잊지 말아야 할 메모를 할 수도 알람을 설정하기 전 목표나 슬로건을 적어두고 사용하기도 합니다.

The steel plate on the front can be used like a notepad, when the user write information on an existing clapperboard.
You can take notes that you shouldn't forget, while you also write down your goals or slogans before setting an alarm.

슬레이트가 쳐지면 배우들은 평소와 다른 진지한 모습으로 연기에 임하고 촬영에 임합니다. 종료 슬레이트가 쳐지면 다시
평상시의 모습으로 복귀하죠. 이러한 모습처럼 SLATE를 통해 자신이 정해둔 시간 동안 만큼은 자신이 자신의 세상에서 배우,연기자가 되어 목표한 일을 성실하게 임하고 마쳤으면 하는 의도로 디자인 되었습니다.

When the starting slate comes down, the actors act and shoot with a serious look different from usual. When the ending slate is down, they turns back to who they are. Likewise, the SLATE, it is designed with the intention of being an actor and actor in his world faithfully doing and completing one's goal.
