To achieve the painted look, I used the paint brush tool in Adobe Illustrator CS6. In my workflow, I used many different opacity levels to give a painted look to the whale and the background of the ocean environment. To paint with, I used a WACOM Bamboo MTE-450 drawing tablet to illustrate my detail.
